RXPS on Android

RXPS is playable on Android. This is the full game client running on your phone, so you log in with your normal account and play the same game on the same server.

Download RXPS for Android

Android 8.0 or newer. The file is rxps.apk.

The numbers under the button are counted by the app itself. See What the app sends below.

Installing

The app is not on the Play Store, so you install the file directly.

  1. Tap the download button on your phone.
  2. Open rxps.apk from your notifications or your Downloads folder.
  3. Android asks whether your browser may install apps. Allow it. The wording differs between phones.
  4. Tap Install, then Open.

To update, download it again and install it over the old one. You do not need to uninstall first.

Playing on a touchscreen

  • Tap the chat line to bring up the keyboard. Tap the game to put it away.
  • Drag the chat box to scroll it.
  • The :: button in the left column lists the commands you have sent before. Tap one to send it again.
  • The globe button opens this wiki inside the app.
  • Hold the globe for half a second, then tap something in the game to look it up on the wiki.

The app has no sound.

What the app sends

While the app is open it tells the counter it is still running, every 15 minutes. That message holds three things:

  • a random ID the app made up the first time it ran
  • which version of the app you have
  • your Android version number

No account name, no device ID, nothing about where you are or what you do in game. The counter does not keep your IP address.

To stop it, turn off Count me in the player total in the app's settings.
