Theatre of Blood (ToB)
Theatre of Blood is a challenging raid with 5 bosses. Unlike CoX, if you die you must wait for your team to finish the current boss. If everyone dies, the raid fails.
Important Notes
- Deaths are punishing - you sit out until the boss dies
- Team wipe = Raid over - must restart
- Bring all 3 combat styles - required for Nylocas
- Vials of Blood are rewarded based on difficulty (used for Scythe of Vitur)
Boss Guides
The Maiden of Sugadinti
Weakness: Ranged & Magic
Attacks:
- Magic attack targets whoever is closest
Mechanics:
- Blood splats spawn on and around players
- Standing on blood deals rapid damage AND heals Maiden
- At 70%, 50%, and 30% HP: Nylocas Matomenos spawn and walk toward Maiden
- If they reach her, she heals significantly
- Deal enough DPS to skip multiple spawn waves
Strategy: Keep moving, avoid blood splats, kill Nylocas quickly.
Pestilent Bloat
Weakness: Melee
Bloat has no direct attacks but the environment is deadly.
Mechanics:
- Bloat walks around the middle chamber
- Being on the same side as Bloat = rapid typeless damage
- This damage spreads to nearby teammates
- Falling hands (shadows indicate landing spots) deal ranged damage + 2.4s stun
- Occasionally Bloat falls down - this is your DPS window
Strategy: Stay opposite of Bloat, avoid shadows, DPS when it falls.
Nylocas Vasilias
Weakness: All styles (color-dependent)
Wave Phase: Kill 30 minions before the boss spawns:
- Nylocas Hagios (Blue) - Weak to Magic
- Nylocas Toxobolos (Green) - Weak to Ranged
- Nylocas Ischyros (White) - Weak to Melee
Boss Phase:
- Boss changes color and attacks with matching style
- White = Melee, Green = Ranged, Blue = Magic
- Only the matching attack style damages the boss
Strategy: Bring all 3 combat styles. Match your attack to the boss's color.
Xarpus
Weakness: Ranged, Stab & Slash
Attack Pattern:
- Starts with Ranged
- "Magia Transitum!" = switches to Magic
- "Arti sagittariorum Transitum!" = switches back to Ranged
- Repeats throughout fight
Mechanics:
- Poison pools spawn under players
- Standing on pools = rapid typeless damage + poison
After Kill:
At least one player MUST search the skeleton before proceeding to get the Dawnbringer staff - it's essential for Verzik!
Verzik Vitur (Final Boss)
Weakness: Magic, Slash & Crush
The most mechanical boss in RXPS. Three distinct phases.
Phase 1: Throne
- Verzik sits on her throne firing high-damage typeless orbs
- Use the 6 large pillars to block attacks
- Verzik has massive damage reduction against most weapons
- Dawnbringer special attack deals full damage
- Rotate Dawnbringer between team members (use spec, drop for next person)
Phase 2: Standing
- Verzik moves to the middle, pillars disappear
- Fires orbs at each player's position
- Move constantly - orbs from other players can hit you too
Phase 3: Spider Form
Attacks:
- Melee if in melee distance
- Followed by ranged OR magic (announced by text, same as Xarpus)
At 25% HP:
- Tornado spawns and chases players
- Deals rapid moderate damage on contact
- Final 25% is chaotic - stay calm and finish the fight
Rewards
Every completed ToB rewards Vials of Blood used to charge the Scythe of Vitur. Higher difficulty = more vials.
Tips
- Bring all 3 combat styles (mandatory for Nylocas)
- Get Dawnbringer from Xarpus skeleton
- Stay calm during Verzik Phase 3
- Communication is needed for team survival
