Mining is a gathering skill used to obtain ores from rocks. Ores can be smelted into bars for Smithing or sold for profit.

tip
If you don't have a 3rd Age Pickaxe, stick with Iron Ore until 99. The increased mining speed from the pickaxe makes Coal Ore worthwhile at 93+.
Tips
- Use the Galvanic Pickaxe special attack to boost your level by 20 - this lets you skip directly to Iron Ore from level 1
- PoH (Player-Owned House) ore locations are the best for training
- Skilling tasks become available at level 76 and provide bonus XP
